I didn’t have a very good weekend so I’m going to pass on the “Weekend Wrap Up” post today more or less. Although I just read a tweet from my pen pal friend Whitney and she said ”every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day.” So to be positive I will be happy that I got a pedicure on Saturday and finished up some designs on Sunday. Today has been less then spectacular as well but I will be happy that I took care of an errand that I had been putting off. What about you – what good has come from your day? Even if you have to dig deep here, try to because it could make you feel better like it did me (even if just a little).

I wanted to share with you today a piece of art I worked on displaying what “Inner Peace” means to me. I love how tranquil, calming and whimsical this design is. It makes me smile when I look at it and I hope you do too. What’s inner peace mean to you?
Anyways, happy Friday and have a great weekend! See you Monday for my Weekend Wrap Up!

I originally wrote this article for Pink Ink Studios but thought it was worth sharing here as well. If you spot any cool trends you want me to feature please leave a comment on this post.
Following trends and staying current is one of the keys to a successful business. It’s important to stay on top of consumer trends and to strike when the iron is hot. Trends help keep your business stay relevant to the times.
I recently noticed the return of the peace sign & symbol in the design world although I’m not sure it really ever went away. It seems everything from clothing to home decor to jewelry is decked out in these fun loving peace icons. Even many major companies like Target, Pottery Barn Teen and Old Navy just to name a few have a ton of retro peace related products in their stores. Pottery Barn Teen has some great peace related ideas that would make awesome props for your photo shoots including pillows, 3D peace signs and various backgrounds.
So the next time you need to funk up your photo shoot or designs maybe you’ll consider incorporating some peace icons into your next project. And to help your designs get groovy you can purchase my Peace Symbol Brush Set at Pink Ink Studios.
Be sure to stay tuned next month for more pop culture trends to help your business stay up to date and in the know.

This past weekend was a whirlwind of fun, food and celebration – our 5th wedding anniversary. We usually try to explore some part of NYC for this occasion and this year we planned on heading to Park Slope but unfortunately the surprise tornado changed our plans. Despite the change in plans we had a great weekend and here are the highlights:
This weekend was great but I’m pretty tired and I think I gained 10 pounds from all the delicious food. And I took about 165 photos in 2 days which I’m still going through. I’ll try to post some of cool city scene on Flickr soon so look for some of them later this week or next!
Hope you had a fabulous weekend and a good week ahead!

Today my husband and I are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary! Although we may get on each other’s nerves and drive each other crazy there is no one else I would rather have drive me crazy then my J! We’ve weathered many storms in our years together but we alway come out stronger in the end, even if we don’t realize it. So it’s only fitting that we have a tornado strike and change our plans this anniversary. But no matter what he will always be the other pea in my pod. Happy 5th Anniversary!
