Toy Story 3

I can’t believe it’s been a year almost to the date since we saw Toy Story 3. Finally got around to documenting it – actually I wrote up the journaling part first and then that inspired my creativity for the layout. And how cute are those ribbon characters from Rachel Young?? Love them!

Have a great weekend and a wonderful Father’s Day!

Graduation Day

Today was graduation at my college so I thought I would post a layout documenting my graduation day. Although my graduation day was 12 years ago (gulp) I just recently finished this layout. Better late then never!

The One & Only Ms. Shirley MacLaine

I’ve been a fan of Shirley MacLaine ever since I saw the movie Used People back in high school. For some reason I was taken back by her performance and charisma that I started following her career. Back then I was into doing lots research and decide to find out everything I could about her and her career. I watched many of her movies, read her books and even wrote a paper for school on reincarnation (which I just came across when I was cleaning yesterday). What high school student does that other then ME?! Highly doubtful there are many. LOL!

Anyways, I never read Time Out NY in a timely fashion but I decided to pick it up this week and I saw Shirley was doing a book reading for her new book, I’m Over All That: And Other Confessions. It must have been fate that I saw the ad in time so I had to go and I’m so glad I did!

Shirley has such a captivating charm which definitely commands her audience and fans. I was highly impressed with her amazing memory to recall detailed accounts of stories and events when asked certain questions. That really impressed me and I could have listened to her talk for hours as she was very fascinating. Besides fascinating Shirley was endearing due to her wit, her passion and her honesty. I was so nervous to get my book signed I was slightly shaky but I mustered up the courage and even asked her a question, which made the whole event even more awesome!

I haven’t had a chance to read the book yet or scrapbook this event yet as last week was crazy with a baby shower, concert, dinner with a friend and a few other things. Talk about a whirlwind but I’ll try to do both soon but wanted to share my experience with you sooner then later!

Owl Together

My latest digital layout features Michelle Underwood’s new kit called, So Preppy. Love these fun photos of me with my parents taking in a photo booth. I want to do more layouts of my family and childhood. I think this is a pretty cute and good start!

33rd Birthday Layout

I recently documented my 33rd birthday with the new Michelle Underwood kit, Vintage Colors available at Two Peas In A Bucket. I even scanned some items in to make it more personal and to tell the story better. I love the card from my nephew Jackson – it cracks me up every time I see it.

2010 Year in Review

With 2011 right around the corner, this is the perfect time to recap 2010 and take stock of where you are and document all that happened in your life this year. Was a good year or it was it a challenging year?

A great way to capture the events of the year is by compiling all the special moments in a scrapbook. If you do this every year think about all the important memories you will have documented to remember. If doing a whole book is too much then think about doing a single scrapbook page with all the highlights of the year. There are some great templates out now to help you organize your thoughts and photos. Here’s just a few I’ve found to help you get started:

And if you simply want to remember everything but don’t have the time to create a special layout then make sure to jot down everything. I haven’t scrapped many of the 2010 highlights so I made a list:

2010 was a year of growth and acceptance for me. This year was all about rediscovering and redefining myself. It took some time to overcome some fears and issues but once I did the rewards were amazing! Putting yourself out there takes courage but when it pays off it’s all worth it. Even though 2010 was mostly a good year there were still sad moments too. I lost 3 very special people that I was blessed to have known. Marlene, Judi and Dixie I hope you rest in peace and you will forever be in my heart and memories.

I’m looking forward to whatever 2011 brings as I’m sure it’s going to be amazing – I just have a feeling! I wish you a wonderful New Year and I hope 2011 is everything you want it to be and more!

33

As I turn 33 today I want to take a moment to look back and reflection on this year and my life. Last year was one of the most challenging years I’ve ever faced but this year I decided to let things from the past go. Whatever shall be shall be. I live one day at a time these days. I’ve spent the past year rediscovering who I am, what I love and what makes me happy. I’ve put myself out there more with both success and some uneasiness. I’m not as confused or lost as I was a year ago although I still don’t have the answers. I have faith that doing what you love and surrounding yourself with people you love will see you through. I’ve made changes to better my life this year and will continue to make more changes and strides in the upcoming year.

Weekend Wrap Up: 10•10•10

Happy 10•10•10! I’m bringing you the Weekend Wrap Up early since tomorrow starts Maternity Matters week on the blog. Yesterday we enjoyed a corn maze adventure, hayride and pumpkin picking with the family. Being from NYC this was my first official corn maze and hayride. It was cute seeing our niece and nephew excited to pick out pumpkins and explore the corn maze. The weather was absolutely gorgeous again this weekend like last – although a bit warm to have the Fall feel though. I would be happy with this weather – 75º and sunny all year round if I could.

I’m working on some finishing touches to layouts and posts all about mommy-to-be matters. So stay tune for tomorrow’s kick off and I hope you will join me!

Happy National Coffee Day!

In honor of National Coffee Day which is today I thought I would document my love of coffee. It may sound odd but anything that makes up your life is scrapbook worthy – it’s all about documenting the little things that make you YOU!
So go celebrate this Wednesday with some coffee and think about the daily stuff you can scrapbook!

Wake UP!

I just recently saw the movie UP. I loved the deeper meaning to this movie and loved that it centered around scrapbooking. What I took away from the movie was – don’t focus all your attention on what you want to do all the time. Sometimes having a “bucket list” of the things you haven’t done yet can weigh on you. Let life take it’s course and treasure the things you have done. Find meaning and value in the everyday that makes things special.
Instead of making a bucket list (which is all fine and good) I encourage you to comprise a list of all the great experiences you have done already that make you YOU!

Here’s a small list I started of some cool things I’ve done although many of them have yet to be scrapbooked – eventually.

  • Attended the taping of several TV shows – Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Letterman, Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Rachel Ray, The View, Will & Grace, The Martha Stewart Show
  • Been to the top of the Empire State building
  • Been to the top of the Statue of Liberty
  • Been and worked in the World Trade Center – Tower 1
  • Seen the Hoover Dam
  • Seen the Grand Canyon
  • Parasailed with my friend Rebecca in Turks & Caicos
  • Visited a run plant in Martique
  • Tried snorkelling
  • Almost got into a fight with Molly Ringwald on the street in NYC (although I’m sure she isn’t aware of this but she almost walked right into me and I almost yelled at her until I realized who it was. Still learn how to stay to the right when walking the streets of NYC Molly!)
  • Told Bobby Flay I liked his shirt while waiting for an elevator (its said “Still Hungry”, which I think is a new show he is doing funny enough)
  • Followed Britney Spears once into a costume jewelry store in SOHO on my lunch break from work
  • Visited the “Cheers” bar with my friend Dan in Boston
  • Rode The Cyclone several times in Coney Island
  • Honeymooned in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
  • Had a Nathan’s hot dog in Coney Island
  • Went to the 1st Advertising Week Walk of Fame Mascot Parade

So what are some of the things you have done and experienced that make you YOU?
