Person of Interest

Last week we stumbled upon the show Person of Interest shooting a scene up the street from us. We’re big fans of the show so it was pretty cool to see. Spoiler alert: Jim Caviezel and Taraji P. Henson were filming a scene TOGETHER! Michael Emerson wasn’t there but a crew member told us the show was picked up for 22 full episodes. These are the things that make me love living in NYC!

Shirley MacLaine Layout

I finally got a chance to do a layout from the Shirley MacLaine book signing that I blogged about back in Apil.I haven’t been scrapbooking lately so it felt good to get this done.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent

One of the things I love about NYC is that you can stumble upon celebrities and movies/tv shows being filmed. Last Thursday was one of those lucky days as I happened to come across a taping of the TV show Law & Order: Criminal Intent. I spotted Vincent D’onofrio and Catherine Erbes shooting a scene in front of the Flatiron Building. John came to meet me after my appointment and we stayed to see the last scene being filmed, which was a car scene. Apparently this was the last scene being filmed FOREVER as the show is ending. After the crew called, “That’s a wrap” (which they really say) everyone applauded and cheered. Vincent made a short speech to the crew and it was a real unexpected gem of a moment. We actually do watch the show so it was exciting for us to be their and be apart of the last moments of the show.

My Martha Moments

Recently me and my friends went to see a taping of The Martha Stewart Show. We were excited about seeing Martha, potentially some cool guests and giveaways. Luckily we were in the front of the line so we were guaranteed seats. We even got free coffee from the Chock Full o’Nuts truck. Seeing the set and how they put together the show was cool but we were slightly disappointed with the guests – organic food chefs, nothing craft related unfortunately. Although Martha got a little miffed during a segment, so that was something to see and we did get a free book. LOL! Anyways, it was an experience but the time with friends and the drinks afterwards were the highlight of the day overall.

I’m working on a Dixie Carter blog post – it’s just taking me forever since she was very near and dear to me. Hopefully sometime soon!!

Weekend Update

Time is escaping me lately and I’m not sure how it’s the end of October already!!

Anyways, nothing all that exciting here to report. I did have to take out my belly ring for a MRI I am having. Haven’t taken it out in 11 years, so it’s weird. Plus it’s making me feel old…just another example of how things are different from my wild younger days. LOL!

Week 2 of dieting went well. Lost 2 pounds. WOO HOO! Only 48 to go. =P

Looking forward to 30Rock coming back this week although I did see the premiere episode already but I’ll watch it again. Speaking of 30Rock we saw Judah Friedlander who plays  Frank on our walk today. He looks exactly the same in person – WEIRD!

Last but not least, this is the last week to get Save the Tatas Breast Cancer Charity Kit. All proceeds are going to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, so make sure to get it while you can!!

Hey Jude…Move

I was thinking to myself today that I hadn’t seen any celebrities lately. I decided to go for a quick walk around the block of work and as I got around the corner I noticed papporazi type photogs running around. People were stopping and I was wondering who I would see. As I rounded the corner I could see it was Jude Law and some other guy standing on the corner trying to figure out where to go. They walked in front of me and couldn’t figure out what the building was and just stood there. At this point I saw my celebrity sighting for the week and decided to head back to work feeling satisfied with an “A” lister sighting. Besides that I survived my first day back to work after vacation =)

Celebrity

I’m skipping around the list today since I have a celebrity sighting to tell you about!

John & I saw Julie Stiles last night shopping for groceries at this store by us. She was all bundled up for the cold weather and looked like a regular person shopping for food. I spotted her and then told John. We then followed her to make sure it was her. LOL! I yelled at John for not being more excited to see a celebrity and he thought I was crazy!

What can I say I love seeing celebrities! I’ve seen probably at least 75 celebrites over the years. And the funny part is, 6-7 years ago I complained about living in NYC all these years and never seeing anyone. Then all of a sudden it started to happen. I love celebrity spotting…it’s really a hobby! He he he!

Hope you are having a good weekend. I’m trying to get some stuff done today but kinda slow. We did go for eye exams and get new frames. I’m getting a new green pair. What are the odds?! John got a really cool pair too. Can’t wait to get them in.

Ta ta!

I Spy Spy Daddy!

vic-sighting.jpg

This morning on the way to work I saw one of my favorite actors, Victor Garber (a.k.a Spy Daddy from Alias)! I was on the bus going to work and as we approached the corner I saw someone on the corner who looked like him. I did a double take as it was the morning (still tired and in a sleepy haze) and looked really carefully and concluded it was him. He was on his cell phone dressed in black from what I remember. I’m a huge fan of his and love him. I thought about getting off the bus and scooping him out but alas common sense kicked in as I had to go to work. I told John what happened this morning and he was like, “You didn’t get off the bus?!!”. LOL! So maybe I should have but oh well. I’m so happy to have finally seen him. I emailed gawker.com that tracks celebrity sightings and they posted it. It all made me smile.

On a different note, happy birthday to my MOM!! Woo hoo, Mom Sweeney! Hope you have a great day!

Celebrity Funniness

What are the chances of seeing Vincent D’Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe from Law & Order Criminal Intent on the street within two weeks of each other? I think it’s funny that I saw both of them on the street recently since they are partners in Law & Order. Makes me laugh…LOL! I love celebrity sightings in this city! Just thought I would share.

I just saw…

Leonardo DiCaprio! He was filming a movie a few blocks away from me and I stopped by to see what was going on. And there he was filming a scene over and over again for a new movie with Kate Winslet called Revolutionary Road.

I’m not a huge fan but so cool to see famous people. He even waved and gave the group a peace sign. The young girls went crazy for it and squealed! Too funny! LOL!
