New Product & Giveaway!

Are you a parent who don’t know how or where to store the volumes of arts and crafts your children produce? I will design an art scrapbook for your child using photos you take of their artwork or projects (I can also scan artwork mailed to me). You can now save the memories forever without holding on to every object. It’s a great way to preserve and prevent your children’s artwork from getting lost, damaged, thrown away or creating clutter.

The process is simple – simply select the art work you want in your book and send it to me via photos by email or by mail through the USPS. I’ll take care of all the design elements and create a 20 page bound book for you to keep for many years to come. There are several sizes and printing options available so please contact me if interested to figure out what is best for you. Also think about ordering extra scrapbooks so grandparents can see their grandkids’ latest creations!

For a chance to win one of these books please stop by When I Grown Up blog to enter. If a child’s art scrapbook isn’t the right product for you feel free to use the $75 gift value towards a scrapbook of your choice.

Honoring Moms

You’ve got great pictures from Mother’s Day, and now’s the perfect time to make a scrapbook from them. Share with me your captured moments with mom or grandmother and together we can design the perfect family keepsake.

All Digital

In celebration of Earth Day today I thought it would be fitting to announce my new “All Digital Scrapbook” option here at Tara Sroka Designs. Now you can get 5 custom designed layouts in a digital format (small low resolution 8×8 JPGs) for only $25. These creations are perfect to email to family and friends, to post to Facebook and your blog. These files can easily be shared and enjoyed by many people quickly. Digital scrapbook files help reduce the use of paper products and they also take up less space in our lives. Files will be sent via a download link and additional file designs are $5 each. Please contact me to place your order.

Just Do It!

As a scrapbook I consider myself a “memory preservist” but sometimes documenting life’s events is hard for me. Depending on the subject matter and the importance of a memory/event I tend to put off dealing with it. I always want to capture it perfectly and that makes it hard to actually finish it. Well I’ve been thinking about it over the weekend that life is too short and I need to just do it because you never know when it’s too late. I came across this great quote the other day and it really spoke to me: “Memory is the diary that we all carry about with us.” by Oscar Wilde. We may carry all of our memories with us but we need to share them with others so they can be passed down and not forgotten. So don’t put off what you want to document or preserve for “another day” – do it now so you won’t regret it later. In the next coming days, I plan on working on some difficult layouts and journalling so stay tuned for my stories.

Are Your Memories Waterproof?

The past few days have been gorgeous – a huge change from the past few days. We have had some crazy and heavy rain lately on the East Coast, which got me thinking of things. On the news each night they have shown so many people forced to leave their homes due to flooding. I can’t imagine that feeling and knowing that many of your personal items like photos, mementos and things are gone forever possibly. This reminded me that it is so important to do what you can before something huge happens in life in order to preserve your memories.

Here’s some tips and ideas to help keep your keepsakes and photographs safe:

  • Back up your photos on an external hard drive if possible
  • Save your digital photos on photo sites like Shutterfly, Snapfish and Kodak. In case of emergency you can reprint them or re-download them for a fee.
  • Have Tara Sroka Designs create a digital scrapbook. These books are saved on an external hard drive as well as saved online to ensure nothing happens to your stuff.
  • Scan important documents, mementos and older photos and save to DVD or photo sites. If you can’t scan them take a photo of documents and mementos.

Another great resource for organizing tips and strategies is Miller Organizing, a professional organizing service. I recently meet up with their owner and she has endless ideas on how to organize your stuff. Be sure to check out http://millerorganizing.com/ for some inspiration when it comes to your possessions.

These all sound easy enough but making the time is the key. Some things are replaceable but some things aren’t so it’s better to be safe then sorry when it comes to your cherished memories and family treasures.

Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to my parents who are celebrating their 38th wedding anniversary today. And by the way a scrapbook is a perfect way to mark a couple’s history through time for an unique wedding anniversary gift. It is a very personal and unique gift that they will remember for years to come.

Everyday Moments

Besides all the happy occasions it’s important to capture and preserve everyday moments! Every day things may seem like they will be permanent in our memory but in my experience they tend to fade away and you forget over time. It’s always nice to look back and see what you were doing and what was going on. And it’s a great way for our family and future generations to see the world as it was when we were around. Today’s layout is an “everyday moment” of me showing off my new funky green glasses.

Wedding Packages & Referral Plan

I’m working on some new wedding packages for brides and grooms so stay tuned for more information coming soon. If you are a wedding professional or photographer and are interested in working together please contact me via the contact form. I would love to be able to work with more photographers to help them with wedding albums and various design pieces. I am also setting up a referral system which would benefit us both. Contact me! =)

Cuties

Scrapbooking is easy when you have cute subjects to capture. For example here are two layouts featuring two lovely cuties.

The first one is of my niece, Kayley who just celebrated her 3rd birthday this weekend. I still can’t believe she is 3 – where is the time going?! Her birthday party was at a yoga studio and it was really cute seeing all the kids doing yoga.

This second layout is my little cousin, Olivia on Valentine’s Day. So sweet!

Sweet Deal & Freebie

Happy Valentine’s Day!

In honor of Valetine’s Day I have a sweet deal and freebie for you. The first 3 people to send me a photo of themselves with a loved one will get a FREE layout designed by Tara Sroka Designs.
