Happy 5th Anniversary!

Today my husband and I are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary! Although we may get on each other’s nerves and drive each other crazy there is no one else I would rather have drive me crazy then my J! We’ve weathered many storms in our years together but we alway come out stronger in the end, even if we don’t realize it. So it’s only fitting that we have a tornado strike and change our plans this anniversary. But no matter what he will always be the other pea in my pod. Happy 5th Anniversary!

The Power of Storytelling Guest Blog Post

Check out my guest blog post over at Spring: Inspiration in Bloom about the power of storytelling and how to live life inspired! If the picture doesn’t load just go to the main site and it should work.

Just testing out my new signature file – what do we think?? The lovely Lizzie from Fizzy Pop Designs did my doodle name and I added the camera from the new 9th & Bloom Collaboration Kit: Memories…Captured. I am really digging that new store and this new siggy. Hope you like and snag one yourself well you’re at it!

Story of Us

In celebration of meeting my husband 8 years ago today I thought I would share my “Story of Us” book with you. I took many layouts that I have worked on over the years and complied a book showcasing our journey together. It shows memories from dating, our adventures, our wedding and everyday life together. A “Story of Us” book is a great way to capture memories from your courtship, proposal, engagement and wedding into one photo book. It’s also great because as your relationship evolves over time you can design additional “Story of Us” volumes to grow with you as well. I had a hard time narrowing down the 20 pages in this book so I see a volume 2 coming soon!

Mets Scrapbook

I’m heading out of town for a few days but wanted to post something before I left. Last year I put together a mini scrapbook showing my journey with being a Mets fan. I rarely paper scrapbook since I’m a digi girl but I thought this project came out pretty good. I used a mini  accordion style book and decorate the front and back with photos from Mets games and Mets stickers. Sadly I think the book came out way better then the Mets last or current season!

Have a wonderful weekend and I’ll be back next week with some posts from vacation and some layouts!

Happy Birthday, John!

I want to wish my husband and partner in crime, John a wonderful 32nd birthday today! I hope you enjoy your day and can kick back a little to chill and relax!

Project Runway Day

In honor of the return of Project Runway tonight I decide to do a layout from the Project Runway Day from January 2010. My husband and I are both big fans of this show, so I’m very happy to say we were there for Project Runway Day.

Here’s my journalling from the layout:

On January 13, 2010 in celebration of “Project Runway’s” return to New York for its seventh season Fashion Avenue was temporarily renamed Project Runway Avenue. Tim Gunn, Nina Garcia and Michel Kors joined city officials and fashion industry representatives at a street naming ceremony in front of the iconic “Needle Threading a Button” sculpture in New York City’s Fashion District. They also presented a New York City Proclamation deeming Wednesday, January 13 as Project Runway Day, highlighting the show’s contribution to New York City’s fashion industry. Since John and I recently became huge fans of Project Runway we were excited to go check this out even despite the frigid temperature. We made sure to get there early since we didn’t know what to expect and were numb by the time the festivities started. It was well worth it to be 5 feet away from Tim Gunn! I tried to talk to him but he was being pulled in many directions for interviews. I did though get to meet Carol Hannah from Season 6 who was one of my favorite contestants. She was a sweetheart and I got my picture taken with her. Also on hand were some former contestants such as Austin Scarlett, models and current designers. All in all it was a very cool but cold experience. The only thing missing was Heidi Klum!

Hope you enjoy the show!

Remembering Pops

Today would have been my grandfather’s 92nd birthday. So to honor him and his memory I decided to do a layout of the two of us. It was taken during one of my many summers in the Poconos sometime in the ’80s. I loved when my grandparents would come and visit. It was great to spend extra quality time with them and have fun. I miss them dearly but cherish every single memory I can recall with both of them. Happy Birthday, Poppie!

Why Scrapbook?

I have another guest blog post over at Bright Autumn Sun all about the importance of scrapbooking and simple ways to get started. I hope you stop by to check it out and let me know what you think. If you are interested in having me guest blog on your site, please feel free to contact me as well.

Summer Memories Guest Blog Post

I’m excited to share my guest blog post all about Summer memories over at the When I Grow Up Coaching blog! When Michelle mentioned she was going on vacation and needed guest bloggers I jumped at the chance right away! I didn’t have a theme or particular topic when I committed to it but I knew I would come up with something. Since it’s Summertime I’ve seeing and reading lots of people’s summer stories and it got me thinking of my own memories – how they are important to capture and document. All of our memories are important to document but there is something special and magically about summer memories.

For this blog post I worked on a new layout (using Michelle Underwood‘s new kit That Was Yesterday) capturing one of my favorite summer childhood memories – spending time with my grandparents. Most summers when I was young I would spend time in the Poconos and my grandparents would come to visit. The photo in this layout if from a mini golfing outing with them. I have no clue who won the game but I know I won just by being with them!

Make sure to share a special moment from summertime in the comments section on the When I Grow Up blog by July 24th at 12p Eastern and be entered to win a custom designed scrapbook layout from me of that memory. You can also pick a different topic/theme or other special milestone as well. And if you like how that comes out feel free to do a whole book!

And for anyone reading this who doesn’t know about the fabulous, Michelle Ward aka The When I Grow Up Coach, she helps creative people devise the career they think they can’t have – or discover it to begin with! I recently started working with her to help me reach my career goals and just to kick my butt into gear overall with what and who I want to be. Michelle uses a dose of empathy, a shot of butt-kickin’, a wagon full of enthusiasm, & a crapload of inspiration to help her client’s figure out their passions, career options and the possibly out-of-the-box career ideas they might have never thought of before.

I hope you all enjoy your summer so far and are making some wonderful new summer memories.
